Alan is passionate about storytelling and anything on two wheels. From bicycling, (he’s one of those guys who can do over 100 grueling miles per day) to motorcycles (he owns a couple of them). He’s also a fairly extreme skier, happiest on steep and deep tree-studded slopes. Traveling the world and learning new languages rounds out the list of what gets him excited.

What else gets Alan excited? Documentary filmmaking. Whether it’s a 30 second commercial, a series of mini-docs, a TV series, or a feature-length film, the opportunity to tell visually rich and compelling stories from around the block or around the globe is why he loves this biz.

He has been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career, including multiple Emmys, and most recently the John Schlesinger Award for Directing from the Provincetown International Film Festival and Best Director honors from the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in California.
